Readying for China

At last Tuesday's Upper School Chapel boys shared their excitement and plans for Superbowl Sunday.  I too was looking forward to Sunday, but for different reasons than most plans shared.  Sunday is my packing day and day to finish up all the written lists, spreadsheets and cards for boys...I'm so excited.

Please remember as you (or your son) ready themselves for China that:

  • I will be distributing
    •  t-shirts at the airport which all students will wear on the flight there and back
    •  luggage tags (last name only) that will be attached to all group luggage and backpacks (makes it easier to identify owner when pack is left behind)
    • journals and pens at the airport
  • Your son will need:
    • a warm coat, hat (not baseball cap), and gloves
    • t-shirts (were left t-shirts off the initial packing list)
I have the passports and will bring them to the airport.
I recommend laying out all the things that will be packed and checking them against the packing list (insuring nothing important is left behind.)

We will update blogs and pics as frequently as possible. Posting is dependent on how plugged up the electronic pipeline may be at the time of day and the diligence of the censors.  Most of the pics will not be able to be posted as Internet speed is slower  than...we're used to in this country...

I'll be adding journal entries that boys have indicated they would like shared as well as attempting to back up photos on a small external hard drive I found deep in my office cupboard.  Don't know where it came from, but I sure am happy it has 60 GB and is so light.  No back-up CD needed now!
    Can't wait!
